SYM MotorLove

Project Description:

SYM, one of the largest motorcycle manufacturers in Taiwan, recognized the potential of the electric motor generation and sought a new opportunity. They aimed to connect their bikes online, allowing users to access real-time information about their rides.

My Role and Responsibilities:

SYM approached Acer for their first attempt at integrating IoT technology into their bikes, rather than focusing solely on developing electric motors like other manufacturers. As a product designer, my task was to understand the available data and identify which data points would be meaningful to users. To begin, we needed to define the information we wanted to deliver and determine the desired user experience in relation to the bike and mobile interaction. To facilitate this alignment, I created an interaction map (refer to Fig. 1) and initiated discussions with the team. Based on the outcomes of these discussions, I proceeded to create a comprehensive UX flow document to guide the development process.
